Excellently tasting meals, but not clean dishes

I'm very grateful that there is this restaurant, since I and my friend were walking the streets of old town in Jodhpur one day and couldn't find anything for our lunch. The place is owned and run by a family, making it another nice point of the place. The meals were very good, taste-wise. The waiter, the head of the family, is a nice guy, but also very talkative, he will sit with you the whole time while you eat your meal. This might give you a lot of information about the place and the country from a local, so don't disregard it. Despite all the positives, I had digestion problems the next day and my assumption is that they might be connected to the cleanliness of dishes in which the meals were served at this place. So just be careful how the dishes look like.

I absolutely loved my stay here at Amal Niwar guesthouse, i originally chose it above others because it seemed to be the best deal money-wise, but immediately found it was much more than just good prised. Yes they have good food, a great view and are perfectly located in the heart of jodhpur; But above all I felt at home in the family run guesthouse. Such kind hearted, warm welcoming people, whom I had wonderful conversations with! Thank you Nina and Sunil Hope to be back एक दीन

We stumbled across the guesthouse for lunch and I’m so pleased! The view of the fort was amazing and in a much quieter, really lively part of Jodhpur just out of the really touristy bit around the clocktower! I would recommend the walk! The food was amazing and the owner was lovely!! Would really recommend!!

When me and my friend arrived we were welcomed warmly. Also we booked only one night and there was a great wedding the next day the owners made it possible for me to stay two nights longer, because I got sick. Its like a home for me and Nina was careing at me like a mother. I felt super comfortable. The room is nice and if you miss something they try their best to help you. The restaurant is good and from the roof top you have a great view over the old city and the fort. The location is very central so you can go out for a walk in the old city easily. Thank you very much for everything you did to me! I would definitely recommend to visit Amar Niwas guesthouse.

The view from the 2 restaurant floors (rooftop and 1 below) is very nice, but hardly difficult in this beautiful city. The room was covered with dust and some tables in the restaurant were sticky. It felt like the room was also on some smalle places used as a storage room, due to some cardboard boxes, probably filled. The shared bathroom was very small, toilet, shower and sink were almost one. Also the 5 half used strips of viagra in the shower were quite filthy. The owner was pretty disturbing. He did not lock the door when using the shared washroom and he had an unkempt appearance. Constantly he was trying to sell me things in his restaurant, his camel ride or do upgrades on my stay. Didn't make me feel comfortable and like a nice place to spend the evening.
